This collection explores the co-existence of Being and the systems that surround us.

A story about a quest into being.
I felt trapped, imprisoned in a heavy box made of pressed layers of societal conventions and expectations. It was hard to breathe. I dreamt of peace. I wanted to escape, disappear. All I could do was scream and fight. I didn’t know it then, but I was fighting for survival. Survival of my being.
I tried to dismantle the box. I saw it morph–in shape, size, depth. I saw a mesh of resistance and expectations weaved in the walls and crevices of my mind. They were part of me.
I looked up at the moon. We stared at each other for some time. I felt her energy, I think she felt mine. ‘All elements exist in relationship to others’ suddenly had a new meaning. Like the trees grow through concrete, being in the box I found a way to dance, and I danced.
The moon, the sun, the planets exist in a system. They only exist because they co-exist, because they dance with each other, move, evolve, and create with each other’s energy. We can only exist among other beings, interacting with other forces. From there creation is born, and that creation gives life to infinite others. Every atomic being is just the energy needed for a larger whole.
I now rise, every day, with a new energy, a new perspective. I could not escape to find peace. Peace was always there. Peace was being.
Now I know how to dance, how to move despite all the ties... Being whole is dancing with the systems that surround us.
